National Monument for Military Working Dogs.
The idea and vision of a National Working Dog Monument that honors military working dog teams was first introduced to me in 2007. I was tasked with developing an idea of the monument to a visual concept. For years we worked with the monument foundation, going through many revisions until the design was approved by all stakeholders.
Once the design was approved by the foundation, it was then presented before the U.S. Congress and Senate and approved by President Obama. Funding was approved and an installation location for the monument was decided on. The design was on its way to becoming reality. Eventually the concept was turned over to the sculptor artist and granite company who brought the design to life.
